carve out the secrets hidden inside ((Faris, Schön))
Hunter has been pretty distracted the last few days, working on his large marble project. Working on marble is lot more messy than any painting he has done before. He has a large drape cloth covering the majority of his art studio, to protect the floor from marble dust.
The carving takes time too. He has made a lot of good progress on the upper-half, that if someone tried hard enough to figure out what he was making, they would see the initial signs of a Chimera being carved out of the stone.
But even with the desire to complete this project (which seems to be consuming him at times), Hunter has not forgotten about Faris. Or that he still wants to try to help Faris to find his door, and the one person who has the ability to do that is Schön.
So, Schön was invited over the apartment, so they can discuss Faris' situation and hopefully find his doorway. Right now, Hunter is dusting, so there is no excess dust in the air before his guest arrives.

"A little of both," Schön admits to Faris, before warning Hunter, "this would need to be business--I could offer you no discounts or special favors out of friendship."

Schön nods thoughtfully, his expression turning inward for a moment as he considers the myriad tools and methods at his fingertips. "I think illusions might be the safest course--they would allow you to set the scene exactly as it appears in your mind, but without the perils of linking ours to yours."

"What sort of payment would be expected?" Hunter figures this conversation is a good one to have, so Faris can become comfortable with asking for his own needs.

((So sorry I keep being slow. :/ ))

"In your case," Schön answers, "you might not find the cost so difficult. How does your next three pieces, after the chimera, sound? No specific demands of what to make, but I reserve the right to decline three good-faith offers before they begin to count against my tally." He lifts a brow slightly, inviting Hunter to consider the conditions and either agree, argue them, or add his own.

Schön considers, then concedes, "very well, I will not poach what has been promised to another." Since Hunter isn't quibbling over any of the other terms, Schön extends a hand. "We have an accord?"

"Will it take time to prepare the spell needed? There is still the issue that Faris doesn't know how to get home. And I am okay focusing on him."

As the deal is sealed, there's something like a tone--felt, not heard, as if for just an instant all of creation resounded like a massive chime. A bargain made with Schön is Significant, and its terms are Observed. But the feeling lasts only a moment.
"Not long at all," he assures them both, reaching into his jacket to take something from the inside pocket--a pair of silk gloves, bright purple, embroidered on the backs of the palms and fingers with a tangle of blue, red, and glinting gold lines. These, he presents to Hunter. "Put these on, and concentrate upon what you saw; let your hands move as feels right, and we shall soon have our illusion. As for you, Master Faris," he adds, turning to the dragon, "I offer a variety of services along the lines you seek--the most basic is guidance, in the form of a spell: it shall lead you to a door back to your world, if any are to be found in the Nexus at the moment. It may not lead to precisely where you left, or precisely when, but it will at least be home. Greater certainty than that is, naturally, a greater effort at greater cost."
((Forgot to say last time, quite alright, journal play works well with slow-posting. Also, the spell can fizzle if you aren't ready for Faris to have a road home-ish, just let me know OOC what you'd like the result to be.))

Then he takes the gloves, lowly pulling them onto his hands. He is not going to move his hands yet, since he wants to make sure that Faris has time to work out his deal with Schön too. He glances at Faris, with a small smile.
"Whatever you decide, I will support you anyway I can."

The K'da tilts his head to the side as he listens to Schön. "That could potentially be very risky, if I understand you correctly."
((Fizzling good for now, I think. I'd like to keep Faris stuck with Hunter for a little bit longer, if it's okay with Hunter's mun. :) ))

((As you like.))

[I am of course happy with Faris continuing to be in Hunter's life]

You would think the thin man would have known the consequences of needling someone from a proud warrior culture, but he couldn't possibly...
"The opportunities I represent are not swift in leaving," Schön assures them both, "at least not leaving the Nexus. I am quite comfortable here. As for questions, hmm. For the promise of three of your people's poems, I will answer any twenty of your questions plainly and truthfully. Knowledge is precious, knowledge of magic especially so."

"A thoughtful distinction to make, sir. Yes, I would like to record them, and no, I will not claim ownership of them. Subject does not matter, although preference is given to the works your people would consider obscure."

((OOC: So sorry for the prolonged absence! I thought we'd have wifi at our chosen vacation spot and we didn't.))

((Quite alright, these things happen. Welcome back.))
"Then our bargain is struck." Again, there's that momentary feeling, as though the world is a resonating bell, as the terms of the agreement are set. "We may make the records at your convenience."
