It's true that she's taking advantage of the chance to study his tattoos. But her fingers are nimble and practiced and she doesn't stop to stare at anything. She starts with his palms and works her way out along each finger to the tip, then applies more pressure to the heel of his hand.

"I wish you could see how beautiful these are." It's a non-sequitur, she knows, but to her, tattoos are art and something to be proud of.
