you have my heart, always and forever
Hunter walks cautiously towards Verity's apartment door, balancing a few gifts in his arm for one of his closest friends in the world.
He had wanted to do something special for her. He had thought about a surprise party, but wasn't sure if that would cause any issues considering Verity's abilities. Plus, there he didn't want to accidentally not invite someone who was important to Verity.
She was very important to him. And Hunter wanted to show her that, the best way he could. And so, Hunter had worked a few weeks on a few special gifts, that were currently wrapped up in pretty, glittery boxes.
Approaching the door, Hunter delicately balanced the boxes for a moment, so he could knock and let Verity know that she had a guest.

When she first opens the box, Verity is greeted with bubble wrap. But wrapped up in the bubble wrap is a decorative vase. The vase is large enough to be decorative. It also has some flowers and leaves cut into the vase itself, which would glow if a light was placed inside the vase. And there is a light-stand at the bottom of the vase.

It takes Ver a little thought and investigation to figure out what it is, but the more she works out the more she's smiling. "Oh wow, this is really cool! It'll make such pretty patterns. Thank you! I know just where this is going."

The second, and smaller package, is also simply wrapped and decorated. Inside the box appears to be a dress. When Verity removes the folded fabric, she will see that it is a paint-splattered dress.

For the dress, she has to stand up so she can see it hanging and appreciate it properly. "I'm not sure if you're trying to make me look like an artist, a work of art, or a warning about hanging out in studios," she teases before leaning over to kiss his cheek. "But I love it anyway. Did you do the painting?"
no subject
"Well, you are already a work of art in my mind," Hunter laughs softly. His statement a true reflection of his feelings for Verity.
"I did painted it. Had someone else design and sew the dress. I am not talented in that area."

She heads off to the bedroom, and isn't gone for long. Long enough for him to help himself to more cake or ice cream if he wants it. It helps that the dress fits. She takes a moment to fix her hair before coming back out to give him a twirl. "What do you think?"
no subject
"You look beautiful."
no subject
"Hmm, thank you." Little compliments like that make her disproportionately happy. (But big compliments are usually not believed, so, it works out.) "It fits so well, I wonder how she managed that? We should go for a walk later so I can show it off."
no subject
"I won't turn down a walk with a beautiful lady."
no subject
"Hmm. Two," she reminds him, discreetly pointing downward where Bobbi is getting more and more excited. She heard the magic word! The pup can't decide between prancing in place and spinning around in circles between them to try and find out who's gonna get her leash because she can't very well walk herself! (Actually, she thinks she can, but Ver always get so upset!)
"Where d'you wanna go?"
no subject
"Yes, of course, the three of us."
"Anywhere. Just getting outside of my art studio is a blessing right now."

It isn't a long walk to the market from her place, and it's a pleasant one. Most of the traffic is pedestrian with some bike taxis zipping by every now and then until they leave her neighborhood and join the throng of people on a main street. They'll hear and smell the market wares before they can see more than banners and striped awnings dangling from upper stories.

"This is a nice little escape from the art studio."

Isn't everything an art supply to someone? But thankfully, they're not all supplies he knows how to use. There are still bound to be things he'll find useful or inspiring. No good market is complete without art supplies. How's he feel about mixing his own paints? Because there's someone selling piles of pigments, fine powders almost obscenely bright and stacked pieces of raw materials waiting to be ground and mixed. And conveniently next to a draper's stand that's caught her eye.

"I could use more escapes."
no subject
"Okay. I'll make sure you come to one of the fairs with me. And not to sell your art, lovely as it is. To have fun."
