Jim doesn't mind playing a part in drawing attention away from Verity. It's hard to be subtle when you're a six-foot-tall blond in a bright gold dress, after all, and it's a nicely novel feeling to have people solely paying attention to him because of how he looks, rather than who he is.
He's also enjoying playing tourist, something he rarely gets to do these days, not having to refrain from people-watching or examining the decor. The music is pretty old, from his perspective, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, as much of it may be tunes he hasn't heard before.
