Sleepovers with Someone to Cling to ((Verity))

It has been a quiet week for Hunter. One of the advantages of the quiet is the fact that Hunter has had lots of time to work on his artwork. (Perhaps a little bit too much time, in all reality).

So receiving a message from Verity was a good thing, all things considered. Hunter really had wanted to speak to her, about some small things going on in his life. And just have a fun night with a great friend. So they had decided to have a good-ol' fashioned sleepover.

Knowing that Verity was going to stay the night -- and having no qualms with sharing his bed with his good friend -- Hunter had made sure to bring out his best rose-themed sheets for the King-sized bed.

He also raided the closest convenience store to stock up on a few snack goodies for the evening. But of course, for the wine selection of the evening, Hunter went to one of his favourite stores. There he also picked up some cheese selections of the evening.

Almost was ready for Verity to arrive. Hunter's apartment is very open concept. The kitchen, dining room and living room are all visible from the doorway. Of course, his art studio is a little more tucked away -- close to the balcony, and where Hunter grows his roses.

"Okay." She won't pursue it. Not that she's got anything good to say about where she'd be anyway.

"You gonna stay there all night, darling?"

[losthunter]

"Hey, my evil plan did end with you in bed beside me." Hunter teases gently.

[brave_heart_verity]

"True," she concedes with a smirk. "Didn't realize it was as your pillow."

[losthunter]

"Well, I guess I should use my proper pillow hey?" He grabs it, with a teasing look. But no pillow fights... yet.

[brave_heart_verity]

"I'd prefer it to the inevitable pins-and-needles if we stay like this," she admits, right before swiping his pillow to give him a light bap in the face. Who said it's not time for pillow fights?

[losthunter]

Challenge accepted, Hunter grabs another pillow to return fire on her. Luckily, these pillows are not ones made out of feathers. Just soft foam.

"Careful, one might to play dirty."

[brave_heart_verity]

"Oh yeah?" She baps him again. Look how utterly afraid she is of the idea that Hunter might play dirty. "You're right, I might, but I don't think you've got it in you to hit a girl who wears glasses."

[losthunter]

"Simple solution to that problem." Hunter moves to remove her glasses from harm's way, before bopping her again with his pillow. "And now, I have the advantage."

Verity is shocked, shocked by this turn of events. So long as her glasses end up somewhere safe she won't really protest; instead, she's smirking at him. "How exactly is that giving you an advantage? I can still see you."

Observe: A bap to the face, another to the stomach, and then she drops the pillow to play-wrestle him down onto the bed.

Of course the glasses are put somewhere safe, away from harm from pillow fights. He tries to field off the attack, but soon finds himself wrestled down onto the bed. Of course, he is laughing and really doesn't mind right now.

"Oh no! I am caught!"

"Mm-hmm. So how's that 'advantage' working out?" She isn't doing much to pin him; hands on his shoulders are easily shaken off. But she feels her point is made. "I'd say I'm not seeing it, but that might be a terrible sort of pun in these circumstances."

[losthunter]

"I guess you were right, I am not very good at attacking girls. Glasses or not." Hunter sighs dramatically.

[brave_heart_verity]

"Yeah. You just don't know what to do with us." She'll let him up now, but she's keeping an eye on him in case he tries to give her a taste of her own medicine.

[losthunter]

Hunter retrieves her glasses, to give them back to Verity. A sure sign of surrender.

"Guess that just leaves guys." He wiggles his eyebrow ridges.

[brave_heart_verity]

"I guess. It's good to play to your strengths." Ver takes her glasses and slides them back into place with a sigh. Yeah, she can see without them, but the headaches aren't fun. "And since I've found mine, we can focus on finding yours."

[losthunter]

"Tackling guys?" Hunter chuckles lightly.

[brave_heart_verity]

"If that's what it takes. I have skills, man, and I haven't spent all this time training with Samus for nothing."

[losthunter]

"Who is Samus?"

[brave_heart_verity]

"Samus Aran. The famous bounty hunter? Or, as more people seem to know her, the blonde Amazon in skin-tight blue bodysuits?" She's a little incredulous. Doesn't everybody know Samus?

[losthunter]

"I have not met her yet." Not everyone knows her, apparently.

[brave_heart_verity]

She was sure Samus was as much a part of the experience of exploring the Nexus as seeing that gods-damned sign.

"Oh. Well, you'll understand when you do."

[losthunter]

"At least I should be able to recognize her, when I do meet her." Hunter chuckles lightly.

[brave_heart_verity]

"This is true. She's a singular figure."

Since he's behaving, Ver will let her guard down and stretch out on the bed beside him.

[losthunter]

"Are there any other friends of yours that I might meet?" Hunter reaches out his arm to wrap behind where Verity is laying.

The question is: should she mention her roommate Sonic? Or would that make the flirting weird?

She'll take that as an invitation to curl up against his side, right where she fits so nice. "Mmm. Have you met my brother yet? Clint?"
